Plastic injection molding technician

Title : Plastic injection molding technician (To be trained to be an operator) 

Available shifts 

1st shift – Mon – Friday 6 am to 2 pm.

2nd shift – Mon – Friday 2 pm to 10 pm.

3rd shift –  Sun – Thur 10 pm to 6 am

 General Information:

Job Title:Injection Molding Technician

Job Summary:

The Injection Molding Technician, who works under the direction of the Molding Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the daily operation of molding machines. The Injection Molding Technician ensures that the machine is making a quality part and the machine is operating efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Perform testing activities as required and record data.

·        Maintain Molding Equipment – example: Molding Machine, Dryer, etc.

·        Set up workstation and ensure all production materials are available.

·        Rotate through multiple stations on a shift to ensure maximum alertness and preparation.

·        Basic understanding of part requirements.

·        Maintain production/machine logs and records.

·        Visually inspect product as it leaves the molding machine to ensure product meets quality standards.

·        Inform supervisors of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem.

·        Familiarize yourself with the tools, instrumentation, and calibrate equipment

·        Operate and monitor equipment.

·        Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste.

·        Replenish materials as needed.

·        Determine and report malfunctions to Supervisor.

·        Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area.

·        May participate in group activities, such as Safety Task Force Teams, Quality Circles, etc.

·        Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

·        Ability to occasionally carry, relocate and or lift up to 45-pound cartons and containers

·        Ability to work a regular schedule in a production environment

·        Stand for several consecutive hours per shift with frequent bending, twisting, reaching, stooping; walk; sit; use hands to grip

·        Regular vision requirements include the ability for close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusting focus

 Position Qualifications:

·        3 – 5 years molding experience preferred

·        Clear verbal and written communication skills

·        Ability to work under pressure

·        Organizational skills and attention to detail in work activities

·        Ability to work well with all levels of management and staff

·        Excellent communication skills with peers, warehouse workers, and leadership

·        Strong problem-solving ability

·        Experience with power and hand tools is a plus.

·        Preferred ability to communicate in English and Korean

·        Must be capable of managing time effectively and multitasking as necessary

Education:

·        Completion of High School diploma or equivalent
