Title:Warehouse Lead / Forklift 

Location :  Landover, MD

 

Position Summary:   Providing support to daily warehouse operations and system processes through the maintenance of inventory, monitoring of inbound and outbound shipments, cycle count planning and implementation, and the general upkeep of the warehouse space and location.  

Role Description:

  • Lead Warehouse Operations consist of the daily monitoring of inbound and outbound shipments and inventory, verifying the quantities and updating in the WMS system, ensuring the accurate pulling of products, conducting inspections before loading and shipments, and the overall management of warehouse space and location for product organization. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, serving as a back-up in the absence of Operations Supervisor, maintaining the warehouse organized and operational supplies stocked, ensuring that all equipment/tools are in proper working condition, reporting incidents, and coordinating logistics to facilitate proper warehouse workflow.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Daily operation monitoring and system process execution.

  • Shipping of all orders in a timely manner.

  • Compliance of orders with SOP requirement.

  • GVM/WMS/TMS processing to be compliant with Order (RO) requirements and internal rules.

  • Conducting secondary checks and inspections of orders before loading and shipping out.

  •  Inventory management.

  • Cycle count plan and implementation.

  • Warehouse floor space management.

  • Upkeep of warehouse cleanliness.

  • FIFO implementation of glue.

  • Tracking of WMS information and physical inventory.

  • Keeping shipping documents chronologically controlled to easily retrieve (BOL, RO, pictures, etc.)

  • Reporting issues or incidents to Operations Supervisor.

  • Monitoring inventory of operational supplies. 

  • Maintenance of warehouse and warehouse equipment/tools.

  • Building of A Frames.

  • Proper running of operational tools and equipment.

  • Coordination of arrival time with trucking companies.

 

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential role and responsibility.  Listed below are the minimum and/or desired requirements of the position including education, work experience and knowledge & skills.

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School diploma/G.E.D. level education or undergraduate education. 

  • One (1) to two (2) years of warehouse related experience.
     

    Knowledge and Skills:

  • Organizational skills.

  • Initiative skills.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Multitasking skills.

  • Strong safety minded skills (ability to interpret and process safety procedures and manuals)



  •  

    Travel and Work Requirements:   Intermediate travel, primarily for company and office matters within specified regional locations when necessary.

  • Ability to withstand a variety of standing, lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, and pulling inventory.

  • Ability to use pallet jacks.

  • Leadership abilities.

  • Operation of forklift (past certification preferred)

  • Great Oral and Written Communication Skills. 

  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
